Flex Health Hub celebrates official launch at Signal Yard, Milton Park
Flex Health Hub team officially launches at Signal Yard Milton Park

Flex Health Hub has celebrated its official launch at Signal Yard, Milton Park, Oxfordshire, following its opening earlier this year.

The new health and wellbeing club marked the milestone earlier this month with a launch celebration attended by occupiers, guests and members of the local community, further strengthening Signal Yard’s growing role as the social and retail heart of Milton Park.

Flex Health Hub, which employs eight physiotherapists and three massage therapists also collaborates with a number of specialists including a nutritionist, acupuncturist, orthotist and steroid injection specialist, and provides health, fitness and wellbeing facilities designed to support the thousands of people based across Milton Park and the wider Oxfordshire community.

The new facility has brought together clinically-led health, fitness and lifestyle support under one roof, which includes physiotherapy, rehabilitation, acupuncture, nutrition advice, counselling and mindfulness services, alongside programmes focused on mobility, arthritis, sports performance, long-term health and sustainable lifestyle change.

Expert-led classes include the increasingly popular reformer Pilates, yoga, circuits and kickboxing, while the space also features purpose-built treatment rooms, gym and studio facilities focused on recovery, wellbeing and performance.

Founded by chartered physiotherapist Tom Jacobs, Flex Health Hub was launched after he left the NHS in 2016 to build a more holistic approach to health and wellbeing support. Despite opening originally as Flex Physio during the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, the business has continued to grow and expand its services across Oxfordshire.

The launch event heard from two of Flex Health Hub’s patients who shared their inspiring journeys about how Flex has transformed their quality of life.

Dr Fiona Garrett Ryan, a private-delivered GP and acupuncturist at Flex Health Hub, also spoke during the evening about the role medical acupuncture can play in supporting overall health and wellbeing, anxiety, sleep, chronic fatigue, IBS, fertility and menopause.

The event also heard from Dr Kerry Swanton at eity20, a public-health specialist, nutritionist and coaching psychologist, who discussed the importance of sustainable behaviour change and creating healthier routines to help people better manage the pressures of modern working life.

Tom Jacobs, founder of Flex Health Hub and chartered physiotherapist, said:

“We’re incredibly excited to officially celebrate the launch of Flex Health Hub at Signal Yard and be part of Milton Park’s community.

“From the beginning, our vision was to create a welcoming environment that goes beyond traditional physiotherapy or fitness, bringing together clinical expertise, wellbeing and lifestyle support in one place.

“Hearing patient stories at the event was incredibly powerful and a reminder of the real impact that rehabilitation, movement and wellbeing support can have on people’s lives.”

Clare Fleet, asset manager of Milton Park at Federated Hermes Real Estate, said:

“Creating a strong wellbeing and retail offer is a hugely important part of Milton Park’s long-term vision and Flex Health Hub has already become a fantastic addition to Signal Yard.

“Whether it’s the popularity of reformer Pilates classes, rehabilitation support following injury or helping people build healthier routines alongside busy working lives, the team is providing services that genuinely make a difference to our occupiers and wider community.

“As Milton Park continues to grow, it’s vital that we continue investing in the experiences, services and wellbeing facilities that support people day-to-day.”

Flex Health Hub is open Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, to give customers flexibility to access wellbeing services when it suits them.

Alongside its gym, studio and treatment facilities, Flex Health Hub has launched a programme of free wellbeing events for Milton Park occupiers and the wider community. This includes free Monday lunchtime circuits sessions for Park occupiers, a free runners’ workshop on 27 May open to all, and the weekly “Milton Mosey” walking group led by one of Flex’s senior physiotherapists, designed to encourage movement, wellbeing and social connection across the Park.

Signal Yard is Milton Park’s new social and retail destination, bringing together independent operators, food and drink venues, amenities and wellbeing services within the UK’s largest single ownership innovation destination.

Businesses now open at Signal Yard are Bros Barbers, Damira Dental Studios, Flex Health Hub and Milton Post Office.

Coming soon will be Apollo Pharmacy, 1885 Burgers, vegan eatery Planted Plates, Chor Muang Thai and Tap Social ‘Day Release’, which will serve artisan coffee, sourdough, pastries, pizza and beer.

With strong demand from independent operators, only a small number of units remain. Milton Park is actively exploring opportunities including the potential for a hairdresser/beautician and farm shop-style offer.

Benedicts is acting on behalf of Milton Park.
